Lower sill trim question

How are the mouldings held on at the base of the sill please also if you remove them does it leave holes.

They are held in place by a cover strip at the bottom of the doors, rivets at each end & screw long the edge underneath.

'Should' be nice clean paintwork underneath but I doubt there will be

Doesnt't involve much to remove but can't help but think it'd look strange?!
