Has anyone experienced any problem with this particular part.

If the silencer faces the right way round to allow it to sit inside the recess in the heat shield in the tunnel,  the bore at the centre box end, is so small it goes past the flanged part of the exhaust and is still floppy inside the reduced part of the centre box!!

Doesn't matter to me now as i broke out the mig to solve the problem, but just wondered if anyone had experienced this.

BTW the centre box is a euro car part one too

Could be that it has been fitted with a 16v exhaust at somepoint instead of an 8v one as the bore size is different. Try checking the part number of the centre box. I only ever replaced the back box.

That is was i thought, so i checked it and its a genuine vw 8v centre box

just strange how the two new bits from euro part dont fit together, i mean they do when the silencer is turned round, but then it doesnt fit in the heat shield
