Hi guys, wondered if anyone can help me, a friend of mine has what seems to be a faulty ABS control unit. We have aquired a pump and control unit from a car of the same year with the same engine (P reg 2.0 16v). from looking at it i assumed it would be easier to swap the unit with the pump attached rather than just the control unit, what do you guys think??
Ive also been scouring the forums trying to find a solution with regard to bleeding the system if we do change the pump. I have read in some places on the forum you need to use a special setting on VAG COM to do it, ive also read elsewhere that you can do it the old fashioned way as long as you do it with the iginition on. Does anyone know whether i can do it the normal way or do i need VAG COM? as i dont have VAG COM only a spanner, some hose and a willing assistant.
