Hi!
just a bit of background on me! im Rob from north wiltshire! for the last 8 years i have been dedicated to Pugs! i have owned a few 309 gtis and have just sold my goodwood! anyway im after a change along the lines of a mk3 gti! im sure you all agree there probably much better motors than the pugs!
im not looking for a every day drive just a toy that pops out on sunny days and for shows! i have up to £1500, not much i know but im after a project!  im after a bit of advise as far as what to look out for and what to avoid! is it worth holding out for a 16valver? 3 door, 5 door? and as you are all aware most have crazy amount of miles on the clock, what should i be aiming for with the money i have. sorry for my complete lack of knowledge but im sure ill get there!!

Cheers for your time.

If you're after a toy then step away from the MKIII's and get yourself a MKII. The MKIII is a lardy beast and will feel horribly slow compared to the pugs, especially the 8v. £1500 should get you a nice straight MKII 16v.
