For Novice's like myself, its great.

I thought Vagcom was really expensive.

I'm thinking on getting it.  It'll be cheap to buy, but it'll show all the faults which will cost $$$ to sort!

Not necessarily. You've already saved yourself an initial £50 diagnostic scan from a garage. Some things can be fixed yourself so you don't need to pay labour. If you're not scared of getting hold of a spanner, get yourself a haynes and people on here can talk you through how to fix anything

Right - just bought it off the bay and plugged it into the pc/car but can't seem to get anything to work.

Going to have a dig around the little cd i got with it, but does anyone have an idiots plan on how to get it working?

What's the error message you get? There should be a file on the driver disc that explains how to set up the com ports if that's your problem, check the previous page on this post for a brief description on how to do it
