Chips from Ebay

Hi, 

I put in a chip from ebay, is does feel more responsive (a bit) but it feels flatish at the top end of the rev range, someone in another forum posted this:

I put a blitzchip in my old digi and it felt lean at top end, I think toyotech did some tests on these chips and im sure the results were that they underfuel and high revs, thats the last thing you want in a digi as there dead after 5000rpm anyway.

When i put a chip in i felt the reverse. Mine pulled a lot harder all the way to the redline, whereas standard i'm pretty sure they lean out at the top end.

Maybe worth making sure your timing and co are spot on.

hmmm. theres was a comment regards the ECU part numbers not so long ago.

apparently some ECU's require 2 chips not one.

unsure of part numbers affected though.

edit: here you go -

before you buy double check with the seller that the chip(s) will work with your ECU.  There are loads of different ECUs!  After research I found out that any most if not all ECUs with a single letter code at the end of the part number need 2 chips to run properly, the double letter ECUs just need 1.

does that statement relate to bosch, tan, or seimens ECU's?

all ecus as far as im aware, each manif ecu comes in single & dual letter codes from what I've been able to determin.

basicallyt the issue is on the earlier ones the map is stored on both chips or something, later models have it all on the 1 chip.  Symptoms are less fuel and a LOSS in power over the std ecu!

Mines a late digi I checked it was all on one chip, maybe just needs to be set up right.
