2.0 litre 8v mk3 gti, really love the look of it ... very comfortable, leccy windows etc. bad points, nearly crashed a few time due to the terrible handling (back swinging out) and the slowness, seriously my mk2 1.6 driver could give it a good run for its money.

Basically my question is ... my mk2 gti is a 1.8 8v gti i havent had it out for a drive yet as it needs T&T i have 50mm lowering springs for it and im really just wondering if im going to love it? is it faster then the mk3 even tho the engine is smaller?

It's a mk2, of course you'll love it over an 8v barge!!!
Oh and as for the "is it faster" question, as you said your 1.6 mk2 driver could give a mk3 8v a run for its money, I think you've answered your own question there!!!

Silly question I think you know the answer to. The MK2 GTi 8v is tonnes of fun.

If you've got a MK2 GTI thats lowered 50mm the way it handles will be light years ahead of any standard MK3

mk3 8v is 115bhp
2.6% difference, but the mk3 is more than 2.6% heavier.
