« on: 14 April 2004, 23:15 »
OK the latest problem is as follows,

went to put car away tonight, started fine drove up drive started to smell like something was burning, so switched engine off, looked under bonnet couldnt see anything bad, smelt awful, my dad thinks its something electrical, so went to start car again and wouldnt start battery light came on and just sat there turning over, so we have disconected the battery.

Does any1 have any idea what it may be???????

Was it a burning plastic smell? Sounds like you mat have had a large current drain from something, and this could have flattened a weak battery to the point where it doesnt have enought power to start the engine.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture

When it was turning over, was it cranking at a good speed? check that you have a good spark, check the plastic pipe for the brake servo has not come off and melted on the exhaust manifold (long shot  :-\). Clutches smell bad when they slip but should still start, good luck.

is it was dead it would be seized....... and the oil light would have come on........engines dont seize unless there is something seriously wrong..........

it its turning over and not firing then its probibly you havent got a spark dissy cap.........etc........

check your leads as theses can smell.....if there worn and current is jumping through the rubber like mine did......
