Had some warranty work done in the last couple of weeks - windscreen replaced due to delaminating (from new - didn't want the hassle of replacing this when car was brand new, but the work was agreed at the last service) and bonnet repainted due to some dork pulling up the wipers and stripping slivers of paint from the back edge of the bonnet (from new - touched up on two occasions at dealer and both failed miserably).
So, windscreen replaced at dealer by specialist firm and the following defects are apparent:
*Auto wiper sensor attachment to screen now totally opaque/bubbled and doesn't work properly. Looks totally naff. Seems they just pulled it off and tried to restick it to new screen
*Offside windscreen wiper arm scratched in three locations
*Windscreen pillar trim damaged and uneven (both sides). Looks like sharp object used to puncture one side and you would think they had been thumped back in place by a panel beaters hammer
*Windscreen bonding glue over screen and paintwork (both front wings) - npt counting that which I removed from the screen and offside headlamp
*Paintwork scratched/hazed (both wings/windscreen pillars/edge front spoiler) - looks like fitters have not protected paintwork when fitting and rubbed over the areas with a scouring pad
Additionally, when bonnet painted - in fairness, a good job on this occasion by the bodyshop, overspray present on sides of bonnet, engine bay dirty, rubber bonnet seal not properly replaced and a significant area of overspray on roof/spoiler next to Sat Nav aerial. Bodyshop recommended that I contact the dealer to report the other issues.
Ask me if I am happy

Then, last night, I got a telephone call from VW customer service survey

Very cathartic to unburden one's frustrations and tell it like it is.
Now awaiting contact from someone in authority at the dealer, although, again to be balanced, they immediately agreed to replace the sensor, wipers and windscreen trim without question. I am reluctant to let them have a go at the paintwork, I can do a much better job myself, but it may need some paint correction work but I'd want a pro-detailer to carry that out I'm afraid.
Neither wonder they get bad press and if I'm truthful with myself, I dreaded the car going in for the work.
I can be anal, but no more than the next enthusiast. Disappointed and P****d off overall.
