Can anyone Help?

Hi all
I need a bit of advice. My AGU played up this morning. Started fine and drove for 10 miles and pulled into petrol station for fags. Got back into car and it wouldnt start just cranked. This has happened once before (2 weeks ago), There was no immob. light so know its not that. I waited 5 mins then tried again an it eventually worked.

50 miles later when at work the outside temp guage had stopped at -2, which it was clearly not anymore

I disconnected the battery for a couple of hours and it seemed to cure it on the journey home(famous last words)

Can anyone shed any light or do mk4s not like cold weather.

Shes also booked in with Custom code next tues, as she was running fine when i booked her in. I know they VAG.COM  the car before they start. Does anyone think i should worry and am i gunna need deep pockets

I would get her plugged in to vag com before you take it to custom code......... Might be somthing simple, as im sure you know thay wont map a car with faults.

Cheers for the reply Gunna check bat and alternator tomorrow as tools are at work. Havent got VAG.COM so gunna take a trip to halfrauds and buy a fault code reader as have done some searches and seen they do them to fit VW. Hope its something stupid too and cheap!!

Halfrauds tend to be a rip off you can get a vw reader from the internet for around £30 just so you know
