I've been using K&N filters for years and swear by them... I am currently using a K&N panel on my valver and it made a huge difference. With my box drilled & trumpet taken out the car roars!!! Makes peoples heads turn cos it sounds so sweet!! Drill it right then it'll sound quiet during slow acceleration and open up when you put your foot down!!!

K&N all the way!!!

when you say drill it right? im guessing you don't mean complete swiss cheese? its got a scorpion exhaust on it too so should sound the dogs

just sold my 5 door 8v, hopefully getting a red 16v tomoroo
first things first.. air flow- gonna go with just panel filter and drill the box out, has anybody tested which is better pipercross or K&N or is there not any difference? cheers

not that you'll take any notice, but I'd just get a new air filter and not start drilling holes in anything.

most of the performance gains people get when changing filter is because they get a new clean filter rather than anything particularly performance wise. but K&N won't tell you that.

1. Take the bottom half of the box out and firstly prise out the trumpet.

2. Use a 15mm drill bit and drill holes along the moulded ribs on the wing side of the box... NOT ENGINE SIDE.

NOTE: drill in between the ribs that can be seen on the inside of the box... DO NOT drill through the reinforcement ribs.

3. Clean all the plastics dust out and file the edges of the holes if necessary.

4. Put box back and throw in your filter.

5. Take for a spin and enjoy!!!
