yes and yes, although my mk2 heater controls never lit up.

you'll have to remove the clocks and check the bulb in the back of them though. that's a case of removing all the switches, stereo and heater controls. then the whole surround and finally the clocks.

halfords sell the bulbs, remember to plug the vacume pipe back behind the clocks.

I used a spare switch bulb for my heater control because i couldnt find a suitable bulb for it, then soldered that in.

You might need to take your heater control to bits

Before taking the dash apart, try tapping around the display as this happened on my cab and I thought I was going to have to take it all apart, I tapped it and they came on, loose connection probably. Mine sometimes goes off now and again, I give it a little tap and they come back on, might not work but worth a try for nothing.
......now officially dubless.

There is a single bulb in the heater controls which is a btard to change since its all glued together pretty tight.

What I did was go down the scrappy and get a spare set in case I destroyed mine, then carefully prised the back off and fitted 2 LED bulbs.  One in the original location and another at the right hand side to give a more even light pattern.

There is an easier way, simply cut the 2 pin plug off as close to the back as possible and you should be able to pull the bulb out from the back and replace with an LED, just glue it in tight fit a resistor and solder it to the plug you just cut off, job done!
