kangaroo mk twoooo HELP!
« on: 31 March 2008, 16:37 »
ok, since starting my new job i dont really drive the golf much any more so it sits on the drive most days, but i have over the past week or so noticed that it splutters/coughs/kangaroos when i put my foot on the throttle, i noticed it coming home from the misses on the motorway last tuesday, but i only done it once or twise then cleared, but i had to take the car into work 2day and it was doing it nearly all the way to work, its happening in mainly 3rd and 5th as if its missing and then after around 5 seconds it sorts its self, then is fine, it doesnt have a problem idling and doesnt pulsate and it sits around 800rpm as it should. but when i was coming home from work 2day it was fine, didnt do it once. iv been told that water or condensation might be getting into the dizzy cap, can any1 help?

HI

Had the same kind of problem, turned out to be a dodgey connection on the airflow meter. might be worth a play with.

I had a bit similar problem - think it was the same issue as above with the dodgy connection. Also put on a non-split big fat air intake pipe that goes from the air box (no idea of proper name) and that helped alot. The split was in the bottom and difficult to find.

cool thanks for the advice guys, just its strange how it has only just started to happen since i dont use it much, and only happens when the car driven either early morning or late night when there is dampness in the air.

could it also have anything to do with the induction kit on it if it might be the air flow meter problem?

actually, its cold air feed, standard vw feed is called air feed, but dan23 said it made a huge difference, so it must be a cold air feed.
