Alloys on a 1.3 will they be ok?
« on: 20 March 2008, 12:07 »
I have a 1.3 mk2, unfortunately at the moment it has the horrible (rusty) steel wheels on making it look like a bit of a banger.

Just wondering how much different the arches are on the 1.3 version in comparison to a GTi. I am looking to put these alloys on (picture supplied below) and wondering will they be ok on my arches or will I need spacers? They are 15" MSW alloys and I expect they are about 195mm wide -  I don't know for sure yet.

Just wondering if anyone has done this before or has any experience with it, just so I know if they will slot straight on or will I need spacers...

Thanks

they will be fine mate, i have 205 wide 16's and theyre fine, even lowered.

i think the inner arch is the same on all golfs (except rallyes)

you will have no problems, so long as the ET is correct (someone tell us what the correct ET should be!)

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Yeah, I did the same with my steels - Looks a lot better from a distance yeah.

And you're damn right 155's dont like corners. Makes the car look alot weaker aswell from behind or infront because they look real thin.
