ABS Help
« on: 10 March 2008, 18:31 »
ok i'm looking for some help here, i have a '95 M reg gti, my abs light has been coming on and has been diagnosed as the nsr sensor, i purchased one from ebay for around 24 pound delivered ( thought bargain at the time as i've heard they can be as much as 65 quid) however when i came to fit i found that the plugs were wrong  i emailed seller and he said that it was definitly the right one for my car, just wondering if anyone had a picture of a new sensor or where i could get one cheap???

Know a few people that have had them from there with no probs. Is the the plug under the seats that won't fit correctly?

yeah, the one off ebay had a squareish plug but when i lifted the seats the car has a round one, i could cut and solder but i belive abs works on resistance and wouldn't work

Yeah it works on resistance, I can't imagine that a bit of soldering would chang the resistance values of the sensor enough though. I seem to recall the plugs under my seats are square rather than round though

The wiring from the sensor comes through the floor right in the middle underneath each rear seat, Should connect to a white connector each side if i remember correcty
