electrics
« on: 26 February 2008, 08:38 »
i took out my dash to change the panel lights, when i put everything back i have a serious electrical problem the dash seems to be running at half power. If i turn my headlights on computer goes off rev counter halfs reading etc etc. the headlight switch will not turn off the lights and it is on full beam all the time. I have to turn off the ignition to turn the lights off.
HELP ME  PLEASE.

take the clocks out again and replace the lights you just fitted. if the problem goes away you know you have dodgy bulbs. thats a long shot but give it ago.

on the other hand i would check that you havent accidently disconnected anything else, left a screw lying around or something that could be causing a short. if all this stuff is going wrong something major has happened to the electrical circuit

I had some starnge problems after replacing the dash, turned out I'd re-connected the switches to the wrong looms and an earth cable was loose (d'oh). Could be something like that.
