lift pump again!

Ive got the pump but the new one is a bit longer than the old one and has a filter on it and its touching the bottom of the tank is this right because gsf only list one pump and now it wont run but it did for about ten mins

They are supposed to come with a "strainer". Is that what you mean by Filter?

Yes it has but the pump is longer and is touching the bottom of the tank and the other wasnt

Take a photo of them side by side and we can see how you could maybe 'mod' it.

After having another look the one thats in my car touchs the bottom the sender unit has three  wires the other has four which is at a different angle which is the newer one with the strainer on it i might chop the wires so they fit but i dont know if this is why i wont run but the isv is making a lot of noise

Are you trying to run it without the lift pump?  If you do that the fuel pump will have to work much harder and will eventually wear out.

No i must have the old type pump and i am going to convert it to the later one
