Longlife Services

Can anyone clarify exactly what you get when you use the trip and clock dash buttons to re-set?  My Mk5 is on longlife and I want a service under the the fixed cost maintenance product that I got from the dealer.  Will pushin the buttons make my car think it's ready for a service or just put it onto a fixed cost schedule (12k or 12 months)?

Pushing any buttons in your car will not change any servicing regime that you are currently on. The dealer would do this for you if you opted to change from long life to time and distance.

The trip and clock dash buttons do exactly what they say on the tin. They reset the trip meter for your journeys that tell you how far you've travelled, what time it took, the average speed, the average MPG etc. and that is all. :nerd:
