Why Do People Do This ????

Someone please tell me why people do this:

To be original? 

ill go with what he said...  its a mod..  aint the whole point of modding your car to be different?? stand out from the crowd???  be origanal???

i think some 1 slating other peoples mods just because they have the origanal car the mod come off is g@y, get over ya self!!  you dont see jetta owners commin up to golf owners saying "i cant belive you put my front end on your golf" tut you aint even got a boot, how dare you!!  sounds pathetic dont it??  as is this thred...

modding is all about individuallity, i think the mk5 front on the mk4 looks good...  how many have you seen on the road like that???  That is a true origanal, laying in bed all night awake thinking about it mod!

I like it! I find the mk5s to be a bit too big (not that I'd say no to one!)

I reckon maybe the mk5 owners just feel they don't want to spend all that money on a car to have it copied by a 5 grand car.

I think that it looks pretty decent. Not as rounded as the MK5 but decent and a good attempt.

I dont really understand the arguement. Why some people feel that MK2's are better then MK5's and that blue lenses .... blah blah blah

The MK1 was the original. The MK2 we could say perfected it. Personally I like the MK2 and the only MK3 I would drive is a VR6.  To me I think that VW lost the plot with the MK4.

They tried to reach into a new target market, with different styling. It was bland and underpowered. **Hides behind chair**
That does not mean that its not a good car. Some guys have syled and modded the MK4 to perfection.

With regards to my MK is faster than yours... You guys are not looking at the bigger picture.

MK1: Skin and bone. No creature comforts etc
Mk2: Creature comforts, looks, power and GTi flair.
Mk3: Different market. We want a mommies car (No offense meant). Simple styling, smooth lines and not quite up to standard with the MK2.
MK4: The final attempt at pefecting the MK3. It failed.
MK5: **Unbiased approach taken** You get everything you get in a supercar and more. Its comfortable enough for mommy to drop the kids off with and has enough power for daddy to play around with a Merc or a BM on his way back from work. It has all the MK1 and MK2 traits.

As Jeremy Clarkson (Lets not start a debate about him) said when he tested it: "Volkswagen has put the fun back into the GTi"
I really dont understand why everyone dislikes the MK5. Its an allrounder, won car of the year 2005. Is still selling like hotcakes 2 years later. The waiting list over here is 4 months. Yes it may seem overpriced.

And with regards to which car has better build.... Why does it matter? All cars have minor issues. The MK4 door handles start peeling. The MK5 radio knobs peel if you put a certain hand cream on them. Its all the same and unfortunatly the MK5 is the most expensove MK yet to be produced which is why they are releasing the MK6 (which will probably be a piece of rubbish) earlier.

Lets all just appreciate each others cars.  And dont tell me Im to serious. This is just my opinion.

as a wise company once said....."some things are better left alone" they were right! the front of the recent mk5 gti looks good but also looks quite agressive, where as the mk4 as standard does not look agressive at all. the front lights on a mk4 are very curvy where as the mk5 lights have straight edges and look more agressive. so there you go. thats why this does not work. it looks well fitted but it also looks cheap.
