Servicing a KR - Whats hot & Whats not?
« on: 20 February 2008, 11:38 »
As the title suggests the Corrado (16V KR) will be getting a service in the next few weeks and i want to fit the best performing parts & fluids to gain the most performance

So far i have used the search function and come up with -

Oil - VW Synta Silver
Oil Filter - VAG
Plugs - ?
Leads - ?
Air Filter - ? ( i have had good performance from green cotton on the 1.8T in the past)

Can anyone fill the blanks and is it worth changing anything else? Sorry for the newbie style question but i have always had a garage service my previous cars.

Also i have 3rd gear crunch and from reading up it was recommended to change gearbox oil as a first port of call, suggestions point towards Redline MTL but will one US Quart do a whole box? And does anyone else make a 70W80 gearbox oil as it aint the easiest stuff to find!

Thanks in advance

Alex
