if my pas belt is lose will that mean that my water pump is not working properly  :undecided:
feel like a prat in askin but hey i gotta know!!!!!!!!

no. the mk2 has separate belts for water pump and power steering.

Actually you were correct first time Herbster since the front pulley drives the power steering and water pump and the rear pulley drives only the alternator. So loose PAS belt means loose water pump belt???!! :smiley:

there are 2 belt setups depending on age/engine, in order to know for sure, look!
