Engine code
« on: 09 February 2008, 12:34 »
HI guys

Ive just got myself an p reg 8v GTI.  I thought i would give it a good service and everything as I know the car had been sat around for a while.

Ive been looking for the correct plugs for my engine as per the Haynes Manual but I cant find the engine code anywhere so I dont know what it is.  Ive looked in all the places the manual has told me but it doesnt seem to be there.

Any ideas guys as this is driving me crazy?

Under the carpet in the boot should be a white sticker. it tells you the engine code. paint code etc etc.

A sump gasket is as easy to change as an oil filter... Plus if the sump gasket does need changing, the oil from the service will have to come back out again...
