Front brake discs
« on: 03 February 2008, 22:45 »
So I thought it was time to change the brakes all round, and could only find 12mm front discs while haynes says 10mm for my 1.6 carb. The mechanic fitted them and they work, so all's good.

Are 10mm obsolete now? are 12mm the de facto now days?

1.05 and 1.3 are 10mm solid discs. 1.6 and 1.8 are 12mm solid discs. 1.8GTI is 20mm vented discs

Good good, at least I can stop worrying that the brakes are not really meant to be fitted to my car...
Cheers for clearing that up.
