Problem Please Help with 8V Digifant
« on: 01 February 2008, 02:46 »
Hi Guys. I have a Mk2 8V Digifant and it has done 144,000. The car has been very realiable over the last 3 years and has never really let me down. Over the last couple of days it has started to cause concern. I don't think its anything major but it seems to keep cutting out especially at low rpm. Once you finally get away the car starts coughing like it has no fuel and sometimes there is no response whatsoever from the throttle. It is very bouncy when pulling away and usually ends up cutting out. There is fuel in the car and the filter was only changed out 8000 miles ago so I very much doubt this is the problem. I'm not sure if its a vacuum related problem or something to do with the iginition side of the car as it can feel like its misfiring at times.

It would be appreciated in your assistance with this matter

Regards

yeah i would look down the vacuum road, check the bung on top of the rocker cover( under the crankcase ventilation flying saucer) if you've got extra air being sucked in this causes crap runnings..or maybe your injectors need some cleaner in the petrol tank.
