Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me with a query?

i bought a new gti in September and after a few days (was too excited to notice it on pick up!) realised that it had rust on each wheel - on the spacer bit between the disc and the alloy, i took it in to the dealer and they said that it was quite normal due to the paint, and there was nothing they could do but they took some photos and would get back to me. they never did. naturally, having spent 20k i dont think this is satisfactory. Can anyone else tell me if this is indeed 'normal' or are they trying to pull a fast one??? Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site. I think the rust issue has happened to a few but as chuff says, stick a thread in the mk5 section and you'll get an answer fairly quickly.

.....or, if customer service has been rubbish at VW get onto their main office which I think is in Milton Keynes and see what they have to say.

Never say never but I wouldn't have thought so. Maybe if it was at their ground , maybe, possibly. I love the FA cup and ties like this one are what it's all about and they get half the gate receipts, so that's got to help them no end.
