Roof dent.

I am looking at buying a golf with the following dent due to a faulty bonnet catch, causing the bonnet to open whilst driving and hit against the top of the windscreen.

As far as i know any dents to either pillar can make the car a write off? is this also true for the top of the windscreen? That is the only picture the seller has sent me after i requested one. Unfortunately it isnt too clear.

do you think that could be sorted out?

to be honest with you mate, unless you are getting a BARGAIN I would keep looking

theres plenty of cars out there, cos f the time of year its a buyers market

Oh and roofs are a pain to repair back to a good flat finish

£750, it needs a new bonnet too.

115,000 miles. Leather interior which i really like. MOT.

seems an alright price but its a trek from where i live and i was wondering if its worth pursueing.

leather would be nice

but a roof repair your looking at a full roof respray after which is going to cost

+ the bonnet

wil all soon add up

*splutters* £750?! Don't mate, I paid £196 for my mk2 that is in pretty good nic, only had to replace the handbrake cable (also wheel bearings but that was my fault  ) and will need the rear wheel arches replacing.

Mind you it's only a 1.6L Driver  But still I wouldn't pay £750 for a car that is in that state.

hehe, I had a 20 mile round trip  Cousins were up my place for the day I bid/bought the car which was spot on luck so they drove me there 10 miles (Abingdon) and I had my first taste of Manual Steering

I had about a 40mile round trip but it was to where my dad works and i got a days shopping out of it aswell

but anyway, on topic that does seem like it could be a bit expensive but leather seats could be worth more than that? if they are mint anyway IMO

In my opinion, there are still enough GTI's around so you don't have to buy one with problems, unless you particularly like it e.g. its very low miles etc. Try to be patient - I know its hard!

You could always nip the photo into a local bodyshop and ask if they can fix it.

As for price, when I bought mine last year, there was hardly any good one's below £750 unless you got lucky on ebay.
