Want good engine rebuild - where??

Hi Guy's,

I have a 90 plate 16v mk2, i want the engine rebuilt.

Can anyone give me details of companies that specialise in the 16 valve.

I would realy appritiate it. Im in the south just outside London, but distance isnt an issue.

Hey, the guys at BES that did my engine work did a great job! they are based in Buntingford, Herts, they are an engine shop but not a VW specialist. I had my '90 8v short block over bored +1mm, the crank, flywheel and con-rods where balanced, they surplied new pistons and reconditioned the block .Runs very smooth now, charged £640 (btw I took the engine to them, so this is for the re-con work only not fitting). They also re-con'ed my head but that will be different for the 16v, also mine needed some touch up welding

the engine shop are in thurrock and they do spot on re-builds. only ever had experience of standard re-builds, not performance ones. but they are local to you and big-boys toys use them for their engine re-builds.

Try The Phirm just outside Farnham (near Guildford). They specialise in all things VW and did a great build on my G60.
