« on: 31 December 2007, 18:07 »
hi guys, having trouble with my heater, blows out cold air after driving about 10miles or so.all hoses hot but not after the matrix by pass valve, also noticed extreme pressure build up and air in system, has bee bled and new water pump and thermostat in at weekend, i suspect that valve is faulty causing all these problems, but i know i cant leave it out as it will blow my heater matrix.can these be stripped and repaired.thanks pete

You can remove them, it's a gamble but doesn't usually cause any problems.

Removed mine about 4 months ago and it's been like being on a hawiian island in my car since! Cost me about £3 for the copper pipe.
