When I had me little mk3 I looked into putting mk4 seats in...i know I'm talking about the wrong era but I was basically told any seat will fit any car if: 1, they fit width ways etc, and 2, if you can the subframes from mk2 seats on them. But once you've got the subframe on, which will prob take some welding, you may find they sit too high or arn't quite right for the car. I think people go for Corrado subframes though as they are more tweakable or sumit like that but dont hold me to it!

not quite, im watching with intent

i believe you can fit mk3 seats by using the foam and covers on later mk2 bases, or you can chop and shorten the mk3 bases legs and weld them back up so that they fit in the mk2.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.
