dash computer?

just wondering if the dash computers are ment to save memory like driving times and miles driven? mine does on long distance's but when im in and out of the car doin short distance's then it resets itself,

just wondering if thats normal?

cheers bud thats good to know, both of my settings lose there memory when i switch my ignition off, gotta be something wrong there then i think?

Memory is lost if the car is turned off for longer than 2 hours (not when the key is taken out the ignition).

my computer use to moan at me all the time reminding me to top up washer fluid etc but lately i've been running out of oil and washer fluid and the computer has not said anything do u reckon its bust?

it loses memory as it drives along, it will add up driving time then go back to zero. and if its not telling you that you need oil and washer fluid then the sensors are probaly broke. just an idea? im no expert
