HELP!!!! Dropped End bit off speedo cable in gearbox!

Hi Guy's my speedo cable snapped last night, I was trying to change it earlier, And the end bit fell off!!! is this gonna mess up my gearbox if i drive with it? still in their???

Any suggestions Needed!!!!!!

I'm almost sure that others on here have had this problem and carry on useing there car's as normal after putting a new speedo drive gear on

if you can get it out try and catch it but its probably too late, it wil just get mashed up in the cogs as its only plastic, you might want to do a gear oil change in a month or so and lots of bits will come out, you may have trouble selcting one of the gears at some point, i found that if this happened i set off in another gear i.e. second and then it dislodged it, dont try to hard to ram it into gear, don't worry though it shouldnt do any harm

Got fed up with 3rd gear disappearing all the time!

and when you go to fit a new gear, make sure the cclip is still on the cable or the new one will fall off as well!
