How do you adjust the accellerator cable?

I readed that you can adjust the accellerator cable to make sure that it is fully open. But it did not say how to do it.
I have a mk2 1.6 driver

haynes book..dnt know drivers but get someone to sit in the car and press the gas pedal.. you'll see somethin moving towards the back of the engine bay.. check it out and adjustment should be obvious
