it's easy to do especially as you don't have PAS.

you may find though that as the car is getting on in years that by fixing this weak spot you will eventually highlight another.

i take it the PAS pump has to come off if you wanna do this job on a golf with PAS?

it certainly does, i have read that it can be pivoted out of the way but i just found it easier with it removed from situ.
