at the risk of sounding a bit thick here... have you checked the thermostat?

i don't know the layout of a mk2 but exactly the same thing happened when I had my calibra (I saw the light and came back to VW!)... but I changed the thermostat and all was well in the world again

just a thought?

Pah heaters are overrated, dont think i have bought an old VW yet where it has actually worked!  :angry: :laugh:
