Hi

Finally got around to taking my gearbox off to replace it.

Was amazed to see what had happened to it. Basically there is a girtin' gret ole in the casing by the diff.  :cry:



Never seen anything like it before apart from on a Morris Marina many years ago.

No wonder it was leaking oil and whining a lot!

I'm amazed it kept going like this. I drove it about 100 miles down the motorway like this :-(

No wonder the guy got shot of it on Ebay cheap as chips.

Would love to know what the hell he did to cause this!

Was the hole in your bell housing because thats what happened to mine and then gearbox oil leaked onto the clutch and funked both of them up!

As said earlier - you are very lucky!
