spacers on the rear...

right then, have fitted eibach pro street set up to my car, and i can wholy recomment it..better handling, vastly improved stance ( to me anyway) etc...

thing is i fancy filling the arch's bit more on the rear,  without going for a different wheel set up, as i like it to look stock...so was thinking along the lines of a 10-15 mill spacer kit

anyone done it?

will it affect the handling adversel?

You will notice a change in cornering with a wider track on the rear, the car will have more grip but tend to want to understeer more at the limit, and being front wheel drive understeer is the biggest problem.

I would recommend spacing the fronts too. You'll notice a big difference in turn in and grip. I would however get the car aligned by a garage that knows their suspension setups. I only know about rear wheel drive geometry, but for a front wheel drive car it is usually a good idea to toe out the rears to promote oversteer which compensates for front engined/wheel driven cars natural understeer.

All this depnds of course on how hard you drive

the car feels firmer of that there is no doubt, but i'm not sure if its actually any harder than stock if that makes sense....

standard cars feel very firm anyway, and apart from it looking a bit meaner as its lower, its also now nice and tight, no body roll....as long as your tyres are up for the job, it will go round most corners unfussed at practically whatever speed your brave enough to try it....i use mine mainly motorways to and from work and its comfortable and unfussed..but definately shows its teeth on the twisties.

i am looking into getting a full kit with dampers and springs, the two kits i was looking at are the eibach pro-street and the koni kit, i know koni is cheaper but what do you think the differences are??

dont know..no real experience of koni..what i do know is awesome gti have vast experience.

i told them what i wanted which was adjustable suspension, that doesnt compromise comfort in real terms...three real choices....kw variant 1, eibach pro street, and koni...

we discussed and  it ended up they stuck the eibach on (ironically made by KW), and its great. i have the KW variant 3 set up on my csl and its fooking awesome, so i knew the kit was going to be off good quality.

that ruled out koni, and seeing as kw make eibachs prostreet, they are effectively the same in ever way except name, but the eibachs were explained as slightly softer/compliant and also cheaper...

the comfort factor swang it for me, as i dont use if for track work at all, as i have the csl....

proofs in the pudding i guess....unless someone can tell me different i can only recommend the eiback/kw set up as i have it and it works very very well in the real world...no complaints about it at all.

right then,awesome can do 12 mil eibach spacers, with longer bolts for about 65 quid a pair, which is fine, but they cant get a set of locking nuts in the longer length...

anyone know where i can get some?

done want to leave 2 wheels without locking nuts!!
