Depends on your style of driving.
If you're thrashing your car, fully synthetic will offer better protection.
If you're doing city driving, lots of stop start and never getting the thing hot, fully synthetic will be best.
But if you're driving normally, on a mix of journeys, and change it regularly, semi-synth is fine.
The viscosity of 5w30 in my opinion is a touch too thin, i'd recommend 10w40 Magnetec (semi synth) which is perfectly good and changing regularly

- there's no subsitute for keeping an engine clean inside for ensuring a long and healthy life!
