:( Problems
« on: 09 November 2007, 17:25 »

Not having the best of time with mine at the moment

the clutch went a few weeks ago, but didnt have the cash at time to sort.

Then managed to get it into the garage, had the clutch sorted, the crank seal
replaced, and some bodywork sorted as well (tailgate now rust free, plus now -
the wiper and washer, and the rear quarter and around the petrol cap all rust free)

I was due to pick it up on friday of last week, but alas, a set back as more rust
than expected on the tailgate.

I then went to pick it up on Tuesday, only to get there and find out my radiator
had cracked!!!

So last night i finally managed to pick it up and have the first drive it for over
2 months, smiles all round!!!

Absolutely love the car!!

But............. after parking it outside the pub, about an hour or so later,
I came back to it only to find a puncter in the front tyre, and gutted even more,
the spare was a sh@t saver!!!!

So until tommorrow Im currently riding around in a 60mm lowered valver, that tips to one side!!!!!

Will my wallet ever see money again!!!!!

I'm feelin the same, I bought the car in october for £500 , bloke said cam belt had been changed but whichever muppet did it didn't tighten the tensioner pulley so last sunday after pickin up a magnex back box(only paid £30, bargain) it snapped and the valves met the pistons.
So managed to find a scrappy with a engine (another £175, so again,Bargain) found out rad was knackered so he sorted me out one for £15 then when i got engine out found out that my engine mounts were non existant, after another phone call to same bloke he had a set of solid mounts for the massive sum of a tenner.
I also got a smoothed tailgate off him a couple of weeks ago, saw one on here in the parts section for 160 and I paid £40  so it's booked into bodyshop next week for that fitting and petrol cap filling and spraying
So in total for my cheap runaround i've probably paid out same to fix the car as i did to buy it.
now i Just need to find some keskins for 100 and i'll be happy

Sounds like you got more luck than me though Ozzie, with all those bargains anyway.

The bad luck streak continues for me im afraid, ive now only got 3/4th gears!!! Will the madness ever end!!!!!!!!!

Luckily the problem shouldnt be too hard to fix, but ill hold that thought, till its actually done.

You're short shift rod has come off. £4 for a new one, but the old one may still be on one end!
