Also, those of us that enjoy our driving and having the extra power appreciate it but there is no way any manufacturer would launch a car like the ED 30 with the 300bhp remap. 

There is just too much power and torque and the car can become unruly if you don't know how to drive it properly.  Not that it's difficult to control but there are some nutters in the general population that could do some real damage.

Actually i'm pleased they don't, so the rest of us can have some stealthy quick motors at a relatively low cost.

Safety, emissions, product placement, cost of warranty claims on overstressed engines. These are only some of the reasons that a manufacturer will not give a specific car it's full potential.

Not really hey... I am busy with a idea at the moment and most of these questions I had to answer so its all pretty fresh in my mind. BEsides that. I worked at a dealer once and countless people asked this question so its second nature.
