My hubs started rusting after about 3 months. Just had 1st service done a couple of weeks ago and reported this. Unsurprisingly, Dealer said this was normal and as it didn't adversely effect the braking performance of the car, nothing would be done. I asked him to report this to VW as having rust on a relatively new car looked sh1t - big quality control issue IMO. Guess I'll have to get the smooth silver hammerite paint and brush out :undecided:

This seems to happen on all cars these days - mainly due to cheap iron in the disc construction and cost cutting during the manufacturing process. Have to say this didn't happen on my previous Boxster but the inboard brake disc surface rusted very badly and I had to replace all 4 discs twice in my 3 1/2 years of ownership (first set was done under warranty though )
