Speedo needle shakin!!
« on: 06 October 2007, 17:23 »
Can anyone help.
Cant find anything on this site which covers the common problem of a shakin speedo needle when accelerating.
Do any of you guys and gals know how to cure this.

When accel up from 20 to about 60 the speedo needle shakes and you cant really tell what speed your doin. I know its not long in this range but it would be nice to fix it!!

Appreciate any pointers!!

a new cable sorted this on mine.

the cable was rusted and stretched on the inside which made it give a bouncy reading

I had this on my driver, looking at the cable you could see cracks in the outer sheith.  I cut off any outer sheith bits that were stuck in the cracks, then sprayed tons of WD40 into it.  Wiped off the excess then covered up the damaged areas with duck tape.  After a week the wiggling stopped :)
