Introduction and hi!
« on: 30 September 2007, 21:15 »
Hi all!  This is my second Golf and I love it.  The first was a 1991 1.6 Ryder, which I sold and bought an MG ZR  :embarassed:

Had it since april - I bought this as toy for the weekend, something to restore back to the original VW spec :nerd:

Unfortunatly MG ZRs are rubbish, well mine was.  It kept breaking down and its not nearly half as much fun as this.  So I started to use the Golf more and more - its never let me down.

I sold the ZR after yet another expensive repair (head gasket at 50k)  and after it got beaten hands down on the M1....by a mk 2 Micra!!!

So this is my weekend and weekday car.    So far I've got as far as getting an original golf ball gear knob back on it and taking the drilled airbox out.  But with no Zed steeling my spare cash for repairs, I can get serious.

I've been lurking on here for a bit - its time I said hello!

Here's a couple pics in its current state.

Hi,

Just joined today also, your Golf looks nice & tidy. Like yourself I have a newer car in the shape of a 160bhp mapped Fabia Vrs which have now given to my fiancee, its great for a quick blast or long journeys due to it being a derv but not the status of the MK2!!

Agreed.  Old cars are cooler  - I never got any other MGZR owners flashing their lights or putting they're thumbs up like you get with Dubs!!
