if you want a cheaper alternative that still looks the bollox, try an anniversary replica, as long as you have big wheels all mk4 golfs look good, i am afraid my little 15's just don't cut it.

I really dont know where Awesome get their prices, I have just called them and have been quoted ?550 + VAT for the R32 front bumper and thats not even sprayed!
I believe OEM Parts are doing them for around ?420 delivered though I would need to verify it is indeed OEM Parts and not another company that I got mixed up with - and its an OEM original bumper.

Thats why i would go the anniversary route, cheap fibre glass is not the way to go try to stay genuine VW, even if you have to go all over the place to get different bits.

also, leave the lad alone, the 1.6 ain't that slow, ok its' not turbo or diesel speed, but 0-60 is no differet o 2.0 gti, so go on son, no one will know unless you try to burn em.

fakes are all well and good but must be done good, would tint the windows by a pro firm before you do any mods to body then peeps acant see inside!!!as r32 interior is lush and can spot it a mile off, replica bumpers are ok if the finish is good and the mould taken from was spot on, then the paint job has to be up to scratch to match orig vw paint, then theres the wheels and ride height, oz wheels, cant remember the name but gotta be orig wheels to pull off a fake motor, then there s exhaust exiting through cut outs in bumper etc, and rear brakes what has the 1.6 got?? if its drums youll need to change to discs to carry off the fake, plus either gti lamps with the fogs or xeons as you have no fogs in a 1.6 headlamp, not putting a dampner on your dreams just if you wanna carry it off so peeps think 'damn thats cool' its gotta be done proper bo' like, i agree all mk4's look nice dropped on a nice set of wheels, so go with what ever yas feels but unless you have the dosh to do above mods i wouldnt bother on a lower spec car!! you could spend the money on blowing peeps from the lights by tuning the engine!!!!

I agree. With the all the cost to make it look like an R32, you could have bought a 1.8T or V5 in the first place.  

Good idea kniterider... Hows about tuning the hell out of your engine and surprising everybody at lights in your standard-looking 1.6!

The OZ wheels are called OZ Aristo's, they are'nt available in the shops though, dealers only and your looking at ?375 per wheel per corner plus tyres.  So if you can get some 18" Super T's they will look close enough, or even a set of audi RS wheels.

I agrea though chop it in and start with the car you want in the beginning, with 1.8T's starting at ?6000 theres no real excuse other than insurance.
