Please help....... need to fix before next weekend!

hi, i'm suffering the lovely judder in 4th & 5th when at cruising speeds and have been told it could be down to the blue temp sendor! so i popped the bonnet t have a look and see which bit i needed to change. anyway after looking on another thread i found this pic with the bue temp sendor closest to the engine but mine are the other way round! is this normal? its a 8v gti



please help i need to get this fixed asap so i can go to the shows next weekend!

plus how easy and does anyone have a guide for numptys for changinfg the blue temp sendor?

On mine it's the same as the second pic.

I shouldnt have thought it would make much difference which way round they went aslong as the correct wiring goes with each sender but im not an expert so thats a guess. You cant go wrong changing the sensor. Take off the plug by squeezing the two prongs together. Pull out the locking pin in the side of the sensor and lift sensor out. You may need a new rubber but I just reused the old one cos I forgot to order one from vw. Dont do this when the engines warm though or ya gonna get scolded.

does anyone know the part number for the blue temp sender and the rubber i need?

it will just help when dealing with the muppets at my local vw dealer

You don't need the part number. Just tell the dealer ship what it is you want and they should not find a problem. Your engine code will be PB if it is an 8V digifant.
It doe not matter which way the sensors are fitted. ie, black and blue. They both sense the water temp in the same place so don't worry about that.
