has anyone to the spec of the engine the bhp and the tourque plus the 0-60 time please?

also how much do the mk2s weigh in at?

and finaley are they reliable? considering they are ment to be built like tanks im gussing they are? did the 1.8 driver come with a webber carb?

I think the 1.8 is around 90bhp and weighs in at around 1 ton, give or take 50kg or so.

They are reliable if you maintain them well, but when the pierburg carbs get old they tend to play up. A replacement Pierburg unit will cure it but i people tend to go for a webber with a manual choke. I'm not too sure they ever came from the factory with a Webber though.

Gti cam and exhaust complete with manifold are cheap and easy mods to gain a bit more power. The gti head will also fit but requires a coolant channel to be drilled in. The cam and exhaust just bolt on though

tar  for that some usefull info there,

any ideas on how much you can pickup the webber carbs for, the tuning info is very intresting ill look further into that i wasnt planning on anything but and exhaust but seeing as the gti parts fit i should be worth the upgrades.
