Throttle problem
« on: 21 August 2007, 13:07 »
Hi - Just new to the Forum, having just purchased an '88 16v

A problem I'm having with the car is the throttle seems to stick, basically I press the pedal to raise the revs and it either throttles very gently - or I need to press the pedal hard, usually ending up with the throttle fully opened.

I've checked the linkage and sprayed copious amounts of WD40 around, but the pedal still feels the same.

Any ideas ...?

buy a new cable, or make sure it aint fouling on anything

does the throttle operate freely by hand on the throttle body??

 *  The throttle moves freely on the throttle body.. and the cable dosn't appear to be fouling.

Although I'll be having a more thorough look at it this weeknd....
