induction kit question
« on: 28 February 2004, 18:10 »
(Also posted in the tuning forum)

Why is it that K&N only sells the 57i kit overseas (I'm in the US)?  Is it a mechanical reason or can I have one shipped over?  It seems that the only thing I can get for my mkIII 2.sl0w in the US is a filter from them (for over $40!)

I'd like to get a K&N induction kit cause it seems that the fit and finish is of OEM quality (it doesn't void new car warranites in the cars they are made for).  Coupled with impressive HP gains.

Are there any other brands I should be looking at?
'94 Mk III 2.0
Bosal cat-back:K&N w/mod.airbox:GIAC
Alpine 9815
JBL BassPro
CDT Audio HD-52 in reinforced q-form kicks
MB Quart 218.21 (mid's) in rear
QuietCar (being applied)

There, shouldn't be any reason for it, just make sure you get it for the right year, there was a slight difference in shape which came in 1993 I believe. I already bought the wrong one as you could probably tell.

If you can't get the K&N the green filters are also an option

Hope that Helps
