Ive just read the buying guide for the mk1 and was interested in the info on the auto boxes. It said something about the auto adjustment drops rubber bushes into the mech as it compensates. Does anybody have any more info on this? It might explain why it chucked a load of smoke out of the clutch/box area and stopped driving the other week. left the car for 10 mins and it was perfect again!
