anyone know about fitting a category 1 alarm to your car if you have already got a immobiliser?

i have got a laserline category 2 immoboliser on a mk2. can you upgrade it to an alarm or have them both working or get rid of the immoboliser.  ???

either. it's likely the alarm if it's cat1 will have it's own imob so whoever installs it can pull the old one out. saves you sticking a key in to start it if that's what your old one was like.

if your upgrading cat 2 to cat 1 then you would have cat 2 to 1 upgrade....... the vr has laser on it and the imobiliser is conected to the alarm.....alarm remote knocks the imobilser off aswell as the touch keys!

but the upgrade will only be cat 1 if its pro fitted!
