Door handles
« on: 17 July 2007, 10:13 »

Seen a lot of pics where people have replaced the front door handles with keyless ones, like here:

Do people use door handles from the rear of a 5 door Mk3 or from another model ?

Any info greatly appreciated

Yes you can use the rear handles from the Mk3 on the fronts to delock them :) Have done so myself. You can also use Polo6N handles I am led to believe, which look a lot cleaner and smoother.

Takes approximately 30 seconds to change a door handle over, done this myself too with rear 5 door handles. I got them for £12 off ebay including postage. Apparently you can get them from VW for a fiver though!

I've done the same with mine.. rear mk3 handles from eBay.

I put on the armour plates at the same time (from eBay too) - stops the crims getting a screwdriver behind the handle to try n push up the door pin - not easy with a Golf I believe, but they still tried it with mine (since been arrested n charged although, the police aren't such a waste of space afterall!).
